Schon bei ihrer ersten Unterhaltung während einer Party in Mannheim, auf der beide gemeinsam aufgelegten, entdeckten Torsten Martens (Monophonic) und Tobias Schirmann (Whizcutz) ihre gemeinsame Vorliebe für kickende Beats, tragende Flächen, tiefe Basslines und organisch klingende Tasteninstrumente.

Man entschied sich, Tracks sowohl zusammen als auch getrennt zu produzieren und so entstand „Third I Vision“ als gemeinsames Projekt. Mit „Somewhere There’s Music“ liegt nun das erste gemeinsame Album der beiden DJs vor: der perfekte akustische Wegbegleiter für eine entspannte Zeitreise in die Vergangenheit, zurück in die Zeit, als noch regelmäßig schickes Vinyl von Labels wie Mo’Wax, A Cup Of Tea, Pussyfoot oder auch Ultimate Dilemma die Regale des „local record dealers“ füllten. Damals war TripHop noch Downbeat und Downbeat noch Headz (oder anders herum!?) und dass gerade in Japan noch eine grosse Community des Sounds vorhanden ist, belegt dass das Album vor dem Release hier bereits als „domestic release“ auf dem in Tokyo ansässigen Argus Label veröffentlicht wurde. Speziell für dieses Release bekam man einen Remix von den Kult-Beatmanics Boom Boom Satelites und die Reviews lassen erahnen, welche Magie der Sound in dem Land der aufgehenden Sonne noch besitzt. Etwas Magisches besitzen auch die ausgereiften Arrangements und der warme Sound des Duos. Sei es auf dem Sofa daheim oder in einem rauchigen Club, sobald sich der Beat aus den Fängen von Flächen & Soundscapes löst, nickt der Kopf kultiviert und unweigerlich im Takt.
